Engineered for extreme reliability under aggressive tropical environments and high industrial demands of Southern Vietnam's heavy sectors.
Ho Chi Minh City, as Vietnam’s largest economic powerhouse, acts as a primary trade, logistical, and technical hub for neighboring provinces like Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. The region's rapid industrialization has triggered a massive demand for heavy-duty electric motors. These motors drive massive municipal water networks, stone quarries, petrochemical processing infrastructure, and new urban tunneling projects.
Working in tropical climates requires electric motors with premium insulation, strict temperature margin controls, and high ingress protection (IP). Industrial projects in Ho Chi Minh City require robust engineering that can withstand high humidity and corrosive coastal winds. The WOLONG Nanyang ATB product range meets these demanding requirements, helping local businesses achieve continuous uptime and safety compliance.
WOLONG's integrated global supply network brings together leading technologies from the world’s most respected motor brands.
We provide multiple explosion-proof certifications for hazardous area compliance across Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asian countries.
Available in both induction and permanent magnet topologies, our motors are designed to help lower operational carbon footprints and reduce energy bills.
Our product portfolio ranges from high-voltage synchronous generators to explosion-proof water pump motors, providing tailored solutions for heavy industry.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. is the authorized distributor of Wolong. Founded in 1984, Wolong Electric Drive Group Co., Ltd. was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2002 (code SH600580). Over the past three decades, Wolong has grown to establish 3 manufacturing bases, 39 factories, and 3 global R&D centers.
In 2011, WOLONG acquired a 97.94% controlling stake in the Austrian ATB Group (ATB motor), one of Europe’s three major motor manufacturers. This acquisition brought the historic Morley brand, with its 130-year history of manufacturing mining-duty equipment, and Laurence Scott, known for high-reliability, low-starting-current machinery, under the WOLONG umbrella.
This was followed by the integration of Brook Crompton Motors, a leader in premium energy-efficient motor designs. In 2011, Schorch joined the group, bringing its expertise in high-power driving systems for the oil, gas, and power generation sectors. OLI, a leading brand in vibration motors and sensors, joined the joint venture portfolio, followed by the acquisition of General Electric's (GE) Commercial and Industrial Division in 2018. Today, WOLONG offers a comprehensive range of electrical drives backed by over a century of engineering heritage.
In 2015, China's largest explosion-proof research and manufacturing base, WOLONG Electric Nanyang Explosion-proof Group Co., Ltd. (CNE), officially joined the group. This acquisition consolidated our capability to manufacture large, highly customized flameproof and positive-pressure type motors (YZYKK series) for hazardous industries like chemicals, nuclear power, mining, and oil extraction.
This integration enables Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology to supply reliable explosion-proof packages directly to clients in Ho Chi Minh City and across Southeast Asia.
Designed using multi-physics simulation platforms, our motors are built to deliver performance under high mechanical loads and demanding thermal conditions.
Our rotors feature a robust squirrel-cage design. Cast aluminum rotors are produced using centrifugal or high-pressure die-casting processes, where pure aluminum is cast directly into the core slots to form integrated rotor bars and end rings. For high-output applications, we employ copper bar rotors with TIG-welded end rings. High-speed models also incorporate safety retention rings to maintain structural integrity under high centrifugal forces.
The stator windings are constructed using polyester-film-backed, glass-cloth-reinforced mica tapes with high mica content. The completed winding is treated with a Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process. This creates a solid, moisture-resistant insulation block with high mechanical strength, thermal stability (Class F/H), and resistance to electrical stress.
The motor frames are designed using finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize thermal dissipation and mechanical rigidity. Built from high-tensile cast iron or welded steel, the frames are engineered to absorb mechanical vibration and shock. The design provides generous thermal margins, maintaining low operating temperatures even when running continuously at full load.
Our low-noise cooling package integrates a fan cover body, air guiding cylinder, safety screen, and silencer plate. The side-entry air intake minimizes rear-space restriction and reduces turbulent noise. Sound-dampening insulation materials are built directly into the housing, keeping noise emissions low and meeting IP22 to IP56 protection ratings.

Find answers to common questions about selecting, installing, and maintaining heavy-duty motors in Vietnam.
A1: Vietnam’s national standards (TCVN) for electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres align closely with international IEC standards. Because WOLONG Nanyang ATB motors hold dual ATEX and IECEx certifications, they meet the safety requirements of local Vietnamese industrial inspectors.
A2: PMSMs (such as our TBVF series) maintain high efficiency even when running at partial loads. This efficiency, combined with variable speed control, can lead to significant energy savings in applications like municipal pumping stations and conveyors.
A3: Our motors feature Class F/H insulation and undergo a Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process to seal the windings against moisture. Combined with high-grade anti-corrosive coatings, they are built to withstand the tropical conditions of HCMC and surrounding provinces.
A4: Vacuum Pressure Impregnation removes air bubbles and voids from the stator windings, replacing them with protective varnish. This increases the mechanical strength of the coils, improves heat dissipation, and prevents moisture ingress, helping to extend the motor's operating life.
