Global industrial supply chains are transitioning towards extreme efficiency, absolute safety, and digital adaptability. At the core of this transformation is the magnetic induction motor. Operating on Faraday's laws of electromagnetic induction, these motors provide the kinetic backbone for global manufacturing, energy exploration, and resource management.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. serves as the premier authorized distributor for Wolong Electric Drive Group. We stand at the intersection of traditional mechanical robustness and smart digital motion control. Through this white paper, we examine how advanced design methodologies, strict global standards compliance, and an integrated global ecosystem provide unparalleled operating uptime and cost savings for heavy industry.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. is the authorized distributor of Wolong, a global engineering pioneer. Founded in 1984, Wolong Electric Drive Group Co., Ltd. was successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2002 (code SH600580). Over the past three decades, Wolong has evolved into a global powerhouse with 3 major manufacturing bases, 39 factories, and 3 state-of-the-art research and development centers worldwide.
Focused on the design and manufacture of high-reliability electric motors and control systems, Wolong executes a multi-brand global strategy. Through strategic engineering, Wolong has consolidated several of the world's most historic motor brands, providing unmatched R&D capabilities, precision manufacturing, and customer service in all primary industrial markets.
Providing high-efficiency electrical drives designed to withstand the harshest environments on earth.
Engineered for hazardous zones. Our motors undergo stringent dynamic flameproof and dust-ignition testing, satisfying safety regulations across European, North American, and Eurasian jurisdictions.
Available in IE3, IE4, and IE5 ultra-efficiency classes. By optimizing electromagnetic design and utilizing permanent magnet technologies, we minimize rotor slip losses and carbon emissions.
From low-voltage variable-frequency induction drives to multi-megawatt wound rotor high-voltage motors, our product line supports pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, and mining systems.
How the integration of world-renowned motor brands provides advanced technology and localized engineering support.
To establish itself as a global leader in AC motors and variable-frequency drives, Wolong acquired several key international engineering companies. These acquisitions integrated centuries of experience, patents, and testing certifications into a unified global operating standard.
In 2011, Wolong acquired 97.94% of the Austrian ATB Group, one of the three major European motor manufacturers. This acquisition integrated Morley Motors, bringing over 130 years of underground coal mining expertise. It also added Laurence Scott, an industry pioneer that supplied safety-critical motors for British nuclear power plants and low-starting-current naval military generators, earning the Queen's Award for three consecutive years.
With over a century of electric motor design expertise, Brook Crompton is a pioneer in high-efficiency industrial motors. Incorporating the premium Brook Crompton "W" and "10" series, this brand provides highly reliable low, medium, and high-voltage AC motors designed for extreme, hazardous, and offshore maritime environments, complete with engineered speed drive packages.
Established in 1882, Schorch sets the standard for heavy-duty power generation, petrochemical, and tunnel ventilation drives. For vibration technologies, OLI stands as a global market leader. Together under the Wolong umbrella, they provide high-power density drives and explosion-proof vibration systems.
Acquired by Wolong in 2015, CNE (China National Explosion-proof Motor Co.) is China's largest scientific research and production base for explosion-proof motors. CNE designs heavy-duty, flameproof motors for petroleum, natural gas, chemical processing, metallurgy, nuclear power, and national defense applications.
In 2018, General Electric's commercial and industrial motor division joined Wolong. GE's engineering experience supports Wolong's product offerings for heavy processing, water treatment, pulp and paper, mining, and cement plants worldwide.
A detailed breakdown of our key structural elements, designed for reliable operation and high efficiency.
Our rotors feature a robust squirrel-cage design, utilizing cast aluminum rotors produced via centrifugal casting or high-pressure die-casting. The molten pure aluminum fills the slots of the laminated steel core, creating a single-piece component that integrates the rotor bars and end-rings. This manufacturing method provides structural integrity and reliable torque characteristics.
For larger high-voltage induction motors, copper bar rotors are used. These feature welded copper bars secured to the slot bases, along with end-rings and protective retaining ring configurations. This design supports reliable operation in high-speed and frequent-start industrial systems.
The stator windings are wound using copper conductors insulated with polyester film and glass-fiber materials. We use low-powder or medium-powder mica tape with high mica content to achieve excellent dielectric strength.
The fully wound stator core is treated using our Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process. VPI uses high vacuum and positive pressure cycles to eliminate voids in the insulation, sealing the windings with a thermosetting epoxy resin. This provides mechanical support, moisture resistance, thermal dissipation, and resistance to electrical breakdown.
Developed using multi-physics structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations, our motor frames are cast from high-strength cast iron or fabricated steel.
The frame structure features generous safety margins, high heat dissipation efficiency, and design accommodations to avoid natural frequency resonance. This construction protects internal components from mechanical shock and reduces overall operating vibration levels.
The cooling system includes a dynamic fan hood body, air guide cylinder, protective entry screen, and integrated silencer plate.
The side-entry air intake configuration reduces restrictions behind the motor, minimizing turbulence and aerodynamic noise. The interior is lined with acoustic sound-absorbing materials to quiet the motor's operation, while maintaining an IP22 safety protection rating.
Helping you deploy electrical drive machinery in any regulated industrial territory.
To support global deployment, Wolong secures and maintains international quality certificates, complying with regional trade requirements and technical standards:
Powering critical systems across all major heavy industrial sectors.
Whether powering pipeline transportation pumps, offshore production water pumps, or gas compressors, our explosion-proof motor systems operate reliably in dangerous hydrocarbon environments.
For conveyor lines, tunnel borers, and heavy crushers. Wolong's explosion-proof motors stand up to coal dust, high vibration, moisture, and restricted cooling access.
Powers municipal distribution pumps, intake pumps, and wastewater aeration blowers. High-efficiency ratings (IE4/IE5) and variable frequency controls help utilities reduce energy costs.
