Why global EPC procurement managers select our Chinese factories for high-performance IEC motor supply chains.
Purchasing high-specification electric motors from our Chinese manufacturing lines offers a unique blend of structural cost-efficiency, deep supply chain integration, and rapid production turnaround. The Wolong-Nanyang CNE manufacturing facility is China's largest specialized explosion-proof scientific research and production hub. This density allows our factories to command structural economies of scale that are directly reflected in competitive pricing for high-efficiency IE4 and IE5 low voltage motors.
Furthermore, our operations integrate specialized metallurgical control, fully automated copper winding mechanisms, and large-scale Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) autoclaves. By housing these production phases within unified manufacturing zones, our quality managers enforce strict oversight on structural dimensions, stator insulation consistency, and rotor dynamic balancing. This structural integrity directly translates to longer machinery life spans and lower mechanical failures on active production sites.
Building a worldwide motor empire by merging historic European and North American heritage brands with modern manufacturing efficiency.
In 2011, Wolong strategically acquired 97.94% of the Austrian ATB Group, a premier European electric motor manufacturer. This integration absorbed iconic heavy industrial brands like Morley (boasting nearly 130 years of underground mining excellence) and Laurence Scott (renowned for custom low starting current motor configurations used extensively in British nuclear power stations and naval vessels). This acquisition dramatically elevated our high-voltage electrical engineering capabilities.
Additionally, Brook Crompton Motors and Schorch Electric Motor (established in 1882) joined the Wolong Group. Brook Crompton is highly regarded for its premium "W" and "10" series low/medium voltage energy-efficient motors. Schorch remains the standard for heavy-duty drive systems across global petrochemical and water management projects. These mergers combined European engineering craftsmanship with our highly automated mass-production facilities.
Dating back to 1882 and expanding through key joint ventures, Wolong joined forces with OLI Vibration Motor in China, securing a massive share of the international vibration motor market. In 2015, China's largest explosion-proof motor base, CNE (Nanyang Explosion-proof Group Co., Ltd.), officially joined the Wolong Group, consolidating specialized technologies in positive-pressure shells, dust-proof enclosures, and high-voltage oil and gas pipeline pump systems.
In 2018, the commercial and industrial division of General Electric (GE) Motors officially partnered with Wolong. As one of the oldest commercial and industrial equipment manufacturers worldwide, GE brought extensive metallurgical, paper milling, chemical drive, and water filtration motor design knowledge, allowing us to produce custom NEMA and IEC motors for heavy industries across the Americas and globally.

Every element of our hot-selling IEC motors is designed via digital twin simulations to perform under mechanical stress and extreme thermal loads.
Our rotors feature an optimized squirrel-cage configuration. Cast aluminum rotors are produced using centrifugal casting or advanced high-pressure die-casting techniques. This merges the conductor bars and end-rings into a single, high-durability structure, eliminating electrical resistance hotspots. For heavy-duty motors with larger ratings, copper bar rotors are utilized, using high-reliability end-ring silver brazing procedures. High-speed models are fitted with high-strength carbon fiber or alloy protective retaining rings to prevent centrifugal deformation during continuous operations.
Stator coils are wrapped using premium polyester films reinforced with glass cloth and high-density, low-powder mica tapes. Following assembly, the wound stator core undergoes an automated VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) cycle. VPI expels all micro-voids, replacing air pockets with solventless polymerizing resins. This produces a hermetically sealed coil structure that provides superior moisture resistance, high mechanical shear strength, and thermal resilience under extreme peak-load demands.
The motor enclosure/frame is designed using structural and fluid-dynamics simulation platforms (FEA and CFD). Cast from high-grade cast iron or structural steel plates, the frames feature robust cooling ribs. This layout provides exceptional structural stiffness, keeping shaft vibration within levels defined by ISO 10816. The frames are engineered to handle structural torque spikes, lower resonant frequencies, and enhance thermal dissipation to extend bearing lifespans.
The aerodynamic low-noise cooling assembly consists of a non-sparking static fan cover, specialized air guide cylinders, safety mesh windows, and integrated silencer baffles. A side-entry air inlet pathway minimizes flow restriction behind the motor, reducing turbulence and acoustic energy losses. Rated at IP22 to IP55, it prevents contact with moving blades while ensuring optimized, uniform airflow along the cooling ribs.
