Application
TAW series (new generation) motors have greater improvements and improvements than the original TAW series motors.
The overall structure of the motor is box-type structure, horizontal installation, and the cooling mode is fully enclosed water-air cooling type in CE standard motor. Shaft end with flange, seat bearing support, cooler in the motor upper. The main motor is an independent cavity consisting of: Stator, rotor, frame, outer cover, bottom plate, bottom cover, positive pressure control system, etc., AC exciter and rotary rectifier consists of another independent cavity, and the two cavities share an air path system, AC exciter and rotation. The rectifier plate is located outside the non-shaft extension seat bearing, which is beautiful and easy to maintain and repair on site.

Frequently Asked Questions
🔷What are the main structural improvements of the new generation TAW series motors?
The motor features a box-type structure for horizontal installation with a fully enclosed water-air cooling system. The main motor cavity and the exciter/rectifier cavity are independent yet share a unified air path system. The rectifier plate is designed outside the non-shaft extension bearing for convenient on-site maintenance.
🔷What cooling options are available for the TAW series?
The standard cooling structure is water-cooling (such as IC81W or IC83W). However, air-to-air cooling is also supported, designated by "KK" in the model code (e.g., cooling method IC616).
🔷What does the explosion protection rating Ex eⅡc T3 Gc signify?
This classification indicates: "Ex" for explosion protection, "e" for increased safety protection type, "Ⅱc" representing the electrical apparatus class, and "Gc" indicating the equipment protection degree. It also specifies a temperature class of T3.
🔷What is the power and voltage range of these motors?
The TAW series offers a rated power range from 450kW up to 15,000kW, supporting standard operating voltages of 3kV or 11kV at a frequency of 50Hz.
🔷What are the environmental constraints for operating the TAW series motors?
These motors are designed for indoor installation, operating at an ambient temperature range of -20 °C to +40 °C, and at altitudes not exceeding 1000 meters above sea level.
