Digital Physics Field Modeling & Robust Physical Materials for 13.8kV Operation
Designing motors that operate continuously at up to 13800 V requires extreme precision in mechanical structure and insulation engineering. Wolong utilizes multi-physics simulation platforms to model fluid dynamics, thermal dissipation, and electromagnetic fields, guaranteeing structural redundancy and long-term durability under demanding industrial cycles.
Stator windings at 13.8kV face high electrical stress and corona risks. The coils are insulated using polyester film-reinforced glass cloth and high-density, low-powder or medium-powder mica tapes. Following wire placement, the complete stator undergoes a meticulous Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) cycle, creating a solid insulation block. This provides high dielectric strength, moisture proofing, resistance to chemical corrosion, and thermal stability.
Rotor assemblies are engineered according to application demands. For standard duties, squirrel-cage rotors are cast using high-purity aluminum via centrifugal or die-cast techniques to form integrated rotor bars and end rings, delivering excellent starting torque. For heavy-duty or higher-capacity machines, copper bar rotors are used. These feature robust bar locking and precision end-ring welding, with protective rings to prevent centrifugal distortion during high-speed runs.
The motor frame is designed using structural and fluid dynamic simulations to ensure high rigidity and efficient heat transfer. Made from high-grade cast iron or fabricated steel plates, the frame provides robust mechanical protection and limits resonance frequencies to prevent vibration.
