As Italy’s primary commercial powerhouse, Milan and the surrounding Lombardy region represent one of Europe’s most concentrated industrial motor markets. Heavy machinery manufacturers, chemical plants, wastewater utilities, and marine OEMs based in northern Italy demand highly specialized electric motors that comply with strict EU Ecodesign standards and rigorous explosion-proof directives.
The shift toward decarbonization has accelerated the transition from standard induction motors to ultra-high efficiency designs (IE4 and IE5). Companies in the region require trusted international suppliers that can deliver ATEX, IECEx, and CE certified three-phase asynchronous and synchronous motors capable of operating under hazardous and extreme environments. Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. serves this exact need, delivering global-class motor solutions optimized for local engineering requirements.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. is the authorized global distributor of Wolong. Wolong Electric Drive Group Co., Ltd. was founded in 1984 and successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2002 (code SH600580).
After more than 30 years of aggressive expansion and strategic technological optimization, Wolong has established 3 world-class manufacturing bases, 39 manufacturing factories, and 3 advanced research and development (R&D) centers globally. By constantly prioritizing innovation, quality assurance, and complete drive control integration, Wolong has established itself as an authoritative leader in electric motors and drive systems across Asian, European, and American markets.

Leveraging advanced design platforms and global brand acquisitions, we offer customized electric motor solutions that meet the highly technical requirements of Milan's dynamic commercial environments.
Tailored explosion-proof designs supporting hazardous classifications, including positive-pressure housing and increased safety designs for chemical, mining, and oil & gas setups.
Compliant with international efficiency classes (IE3, IE4, IE5). Wolong's permanent magnet synchronous motors drastically cut operational electricity usage and carbon footprints.
A broad range covering low voltage asynchronous, high voltage wound rotor induction, variable frequency регулирование, and specialized electric outboard marine drives.
In 2011, Wolong Electric initiated a sequence of strategic acquisitions that brought some of Europe's most prestigious electric motor brands under its wing, creating a powerhouse of technology sharing and mutual manufacturing optimization.
Austria's ATB Group: Acquired by Wolong, ATB (including respected brands such as Morley and Laurence Scott) has over 130 years of design experience. Morley remains a benchmark in underground coal mining drives, and Laurence Scott is globally renowned for manufacturing motors with low starting currents used in marine propulsion and critical power plants.
Brook Crompton & Schorch: Brook Crompton motors are leaders in energy-efficient drives for hazardous environments. Meanwhile, Germany's Schorch (established in 1882) sets the global standard for heavy industrial driving systems in oil and gas, shipbuilding, and massive water management systems.
Nanyang Explosion Protection & GE Commercial Motors: With Nanyang Explosion Protection Group (CNE) joining in 2015, and General Electric's industrial motor division integrated in 2018, Wolong gained unmatched technical support and expanded its compliance coverage across NEMA standards.

ISO 9001 Ex Motor Quality System: Wolong maintains rigid quality standards ensuring international safety regulations are met. For the North American market, UL and CSA approvals guarantee optimal starting current limits. For EU markets, full compliance with the ATEX Directive (2014/34/EU) and IECEx schemes allows trouble-free importation and operations in hazardous areas.
Explore the structural innovations behind the durability and vibration isolation margins of our three-phase motors.
Utilizing high-grade centrifugal cast aluminum and precision die-casting techniques to form a unified construction. For larger capacity systems, copper bar rotors are secured using proprietary end-ring welding procedures, guaranteeing durability and outstanding torque-speed curves.
Formulated with high-content mica tape and polyester film, our stators undergo the Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process. This produces outstanding moisture isolation, mechanical stiffness, and thermal dissipation, maximizing lifespan in damp industrial settings.
Designed using digital structural and fluid multi-physics simulation platforms. Cast from high-strength iron or structural steel, our frames exhibit generous frequency isolation margins, protecting internal windings from heavy external shocks.
Equipped with a compact air-guide cylinder, protective side-inlet windows, and internal sound-absorbing silencer plates. The IP22-rated structure minimizes ventilation energy loss, substantially reducing overall operational decibels.

Modern industrial projects require integration between the motor and variable frequency drives (VFD) to achieve precise speed regulation. Operating at fixed speeds is no longer sufficient for complex conveyor, ventilation, and marine pump installations in Lombardy.
By combining Wolong’s high-voltage motors (such as the YKS and YR wound rotor series) with digital speed regulation packages (such as the Schorch BPY-S30 series), heavy machinery OEMs can optimize their operations. This integration reduces energy spikes, improves power factors, and extends system life.
Furthermore, our technology roadmap emphasizes smart diagnostics. By integrating vibration sensors from OLI and monitoring systems, maintenance teams can identify abnormalities before structural damage occurs. This proactive approach minimizes downtime in critical industrial processes.

To enter the Milan market and the wider EU, motors must bear the CE mark, indicating compliance with EU safety, health, and environmental requirements. For hazardous environments (chemical, petrochemical, and mining sectors), motors must carry ATEX certification (Directive 2014/34/EU) and IECEx certification. Our motor series (such as the YBX5, WEX3, and TAW) meet these standards.
The YBX5 series utilizes optimized electromagnetic design, high-permeability silicon steel sheets, and an optimized stator-rotor slot configuration. These enhancements reduce winding copper loss and stator core iron loss, ensuring the motor meets IE5 efficiency thresholds. This aligns with the EU Ecodesign Directive (Regulation 2019/1781).
Positive pressure excitation motors (TZYW series) work by maintaining a continuous flow of clean protective gas inside the casing at a pressure higher than the surrounding atmosphere. This prevents external explosive gases or dust from entering, allowing synchronous and asynchronous drives to operate safely in chemical processing environments.
Cast aluminum rotors are ideal for general and light-to-medium industrial applications due to their balance of reliability and cost. However, for high-capacity, high-torque, or high-speed applications (such as large compressors and water pumps), copper bar rotors are preferred. Copper's superior conductivity reduces rotor losses and improves efficiency under heavy start-up cycles.
The VPI process places the stator winding under a vacuum to extract air and moisture, then injects solventless resin under pressure. Once cured, the resin creates a solid, void-free insulation barrier. This provides excellent electrical resistance, high mechanical strength, and protection against moisture, chemicals, and vibration.
