Explore our cutting-edge low-voltage, high-voltage, and certified explosion-proof induction and permanent magnet synchronous motors designed for extreme industrial applications.
As heavy industries confront strict energy efficiency policies and rising operational expenses, standard induction systems are steadily giving way to Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs). Leveraging rare-earth high-flux density permanent magnets embedded in the rotor, these systems eliminate rotor current losses, yielding an efficiency margin that exceeds IE4 and IE5 performance targets. For global industrial enterprises, optimizing drive architectures is no longer just about compliance; it is a critical strategy for boosting system reliability and capturing substantial energy savings.
Working directly with Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. (the authorized distributor of Wolong Electric Drive Group Co., Ltd.), engineering teams obtain highly refined, customized designs tailored for harsh industrial operating conditions. Every motor undergoes precise calculations to minimize winding temperature rises, match system inertia ratios, and optimize inverter switching patterns, ensuring continuous performance under variable loads.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. serves as the premier authorized distributor of Wolong. Founded in 1984 and listed in 2002 (code SH600580), Wolong Electric Drive Group Co., Ltd. has established itself as an elite player in global electric machine manufacturing. Operating across 3 major global manufacturing bases, 39 individual factories, and 3 high-tech R&D facilities worldwide, Wolong continues to push boundaries in smart motor design, advanced variable frequency control systems, and complex oilfield/mining application designs.
Our motor engineering philosophy emphasizes high structural integrity, superior thermal dissipation margins, and excellent electrical insulation. Below is a detailed look at the core components that drive our systems.
The rotor features a highly durable squirrel cage design, with cast aluminum rotors being widely utilized across low-voltage series. These components are produced using either centrifugal aluminum casting or high-pressure die-casting techniques. In this process, molten pure aluminum is poured directly into the slots of the rotor core, resulting in a single-piece construction that integrates the rotor bars and end rings.
The structural integrity and manufacturing process of cast aluminum rotors guarantee outstanding reliability and torque properties. For larger capacity motors, copper bar rotors are employed, which benefit from dependable bar securing and advanced end-ring welding procedures. Additionally, the protective ring design of high-speed motors ensures long-term operational safety under extreme centrifugal loads.
Our coil insulation system is crafted from premium polyester film reinforced with high-density glass cloth. It utilizes either low-powder mica tape with high mica content or medium-powdered mica tape. Following the VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) process, a pristine white coil structure emerges from the manufacturing line.
Once the winding billet is extracted from the wire slotting fixtures, it undergoes the VPI cycle to consolidate the system into a solid, moisture-impermeable unit. The final winding assembly provides excellent electrical performance, mechanical strength, and thermal stability (Class F/H rating), resisting mechanical degradation caused by rapid electromagnetic cycles.
The motor frame is developed on a fully digital platform using multi-physics simulations (structural mechanics, modal analysis, and computational fluid dynamics). This virtual prototyping phase ensures we retain the core performance features of our original patents while utilizing high-strength cast iron (or alternative structural steel alloys) for the final components.
Each frame boasts generous structural redundancy and optimized thermal dissipation fin profiles, ensuring ample vibration isolation margins for the entire machine. This configuration allows our assemblies to endure high mechanical shocks, maintain a superior vibration class, and minimize internal temperature rises.
The low-noise ventilation system consists of a fan cover body, an air guide cylinder, a protective window, and a silencer plate. Its compact structure and lightweight design reduce vibration. Placing the air inlets on the sides optimizes airflow around obstacles behind the motor, reducing energy loss and lowering high-frequency noise.
Integrated acoustic materials absorb structural and aerodynamic noise, further lowering the motor's overall acoustic footprint. The fan cover meets IP22 ingress protection standards, preventing accidental contact with the rotating fan blades.

Wolong's growth includes the integration of several historic electric motor brands, creating a highly capable engineering network.
Acquired in 2011, ATB is a prominent European motor manufacturer that includes the Morley and Laurence Scott brands. Morley provides heavy-duty motors for underground coal mining. Laurence Scott is known for low-starting-current motors for power plants and naval applications, earning the Queen's Award for three consecutive years.
With over a century of experience in motor design and energy efficiency, Brook Crompton developed the premium "W" and "10" series low-voltage, medium-voltage, and high-voltage AC motors. These lines offer reliable power delivery in harsh environments.
Schorch (est. 1882) supplies custom drive systems for heavy industrial sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and tunnel systems. OLI leads the global vibration motor (MVE) and ex-vibration sensor market, partnering with Wolong to cover industrial material handling applications.
Joined Wolong in 2015 as China's largest specialized base for explosion-proof motors. The division produces highly reliable low-voltage asynchronous, high-voltage ex-proof, and variable frequency motors for metallurgy, petrochemical, coal, and nuclear power projects.
Acquired in 2018, GE's industrial motor business brings deep experience in heavy industries, helping to improve Wolong's product offerings and support global distribution channels.
