Engineered for extreme performance, energy conservation, and safety in heavy-duty commercial and hazardous areas.
In the global effort to decarbonize, high-efficiency AC motors are critical. Industrial operations consume over 40% of global electricity, with electric motors drawing the majority. Upgrading to advanced, energy-efficient solutions from a reliable supplier is key to reducing operational costs and meeting environmental regulations.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. is the authorized distributor of Wolong, offering direct access to the global resources of Wolong Electric Drive Group Co., Ltd. (founded in 1984, listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange under code SH600580 in 2002).
With over three decades of engineering experience, Wolong operates 3 manufacturing bases, 39 factories, and 3 global R&D centers. Through a strategy focused on global branding and technology sharing, Wolong delivers advanced motor design, precise manufacturing, and dependable technical support worldwide.
Our solutions are designed to address the key challenges of modern industrial operations: regulatory compliance, energy cost control, and reliability.
We supply motors with ATEX, IECEx, EAC, and SABS certificates, ensuring compliant and reliable operation in Zone 1, Zone 2, and other hazardous industrial environments.
Available in IE3, IE4, and IE5 efficiency levels, including Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) designed to optimize energy usage under variable load conditions.
A comprehensive product range covering low-voltage, medium-voltage, and high-voltage AC motors configured for fans, compressors, pumps, and conveyors.
By acquiring established international manufacturers, Wolong has built a combined repository of electrical engineering technology and experience.
Wolong acquired 97.94% of the ATB Group, a leading European motor manufacturer. This acquisition integrated the engineering resources of Morley (a specialist in mining motors with nearly 130 years of history) and Laurence Scott (specializing in low-starting-current motors for defense, marine, and nuclear energy applications).
The acquisition of Schorch (established in 1882) expanded Wolong's capabilities in heavy-duty drives for oil, gas, and steel processing. At the same time, integrating Brook Crompton brought a century of design experience in low-voltage and medium-voltage energy-efficient motors (such as the Brook Crompton "W" and "10" series).
China's largest research and production base for explosion-proof motors joined the Wolong Group. This integration improved the engineering, testing, and production capabilities of heavy-duty flameproof high-voltage machines used in petrochemical and coal processing industries.
Wolong acquired General Electric's commercial and industrial motor division. Combining GE's design standards with Wolong's flexible manufacturing system created a robust supply chain capable of producing NEMA standard motors for the Americas and global markets.
A look inside the design details, automated manufacturing processes, and quality standards behind Wolong AC Motors.
The stator coil uses high-grade polyester film reinforced with glass cloth and low- or medium-powder mica tape. The assembled stator core undergoes a computerized Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) cycle.
This process eliminates air pockets within the slots, resulting in a solid, moisture-resistant insulation barrier with high mechanical strength and thermal stability. The cured winding structure is rated Class F or H, allowing the motors to handle variable frequency drives (VFD) and severe voltage transients without premature insulation failure.
Depending on the application, Wolong motors feature either squirrel-cage cast aluminum or copper bar rotors.
Cast aluminum rotors are produced using centrifugal casting or high-pressure die-casting, which integrates the rotor bars and end rings. For large-capacity and high-voltage motors, copper bar rotors are used. These feature welded joint connections and retaining rings to handle the mechanical stresses of high-speed rotation and frequent startup cycles.
Wolong's motor frames are engineered using digital multi-physics simulations that analyze both structural integrity and heat dissipation.
Cast from high-tensile gray iron or welded steel, the frames are designed to withstand mechanical shock and isolate system vibrations. This structural design helps keep bearing temperatures low and extends the overall service life of the machine.
The low-noise ventilation system consists of an aerodynamic fan cover, a custom air guide cylinder, a protective window, and silencer plates.
By placing the air inlets on the side, the system minimizes rear intake obstructions, reduces turbulence, and dampens operating noise. Integrated sound-absorbing linings help the motor meet strict industrial noise limits while maintaining an IP22 rating that prevents accidental contact with the fan.
Our automated manufacturing lines and precision assembly systems ensure high product consistency and reliability.
Wolong motors comply with major international standards, simplifying regulatory approvals and deployment across different regions.
