Explore our premium range of explosion-proof, marine-grade, and high-voltage three-phase asynchronous motors designed to meet custom dynamic loads and extreme application thresholds.
The industrial landscape is undergoing a massive transformation. Modern processing plants, deep-sea exploration vessels, and high-consequence petrochemical complexes can no longer rely on standard off-the-shelf motors. Modern environments demand precise adaptations. Industrial plants require optimizations for varying grid voltages, extreme temperature parameters, and challenging environmental factors like marine corrosion or chemical vapor exposure.
Custom industrial electric motors form the heart of heavy-duty operation systems globally. From driving massive compressors in chemical facilities to running multi-kilometer belt conveyors in deep underground mines, specialized engineering ensures systems run reliably without unexpected shutdowns. Decarbonization goals require motors to reach energy standards like IE4 and IE5. Customized permanent magnet and brushless excitation technologies lead the way in achieving these high efficiency metrics.
As a leading Chinese supplier, Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. supplies high-performance custom electric motors designed to meet local operational requirements. By bridging international engineering standards with specialized manufacturing processes, we build reliable, energy-efficient drivetrains suited for high-stress industrial operations.
Combining world-class international brands to build a comprehensive, high-technology electric drive supply network.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor Technology Co., Ltd. is an authorized distributor of Wolong, a leading manufacturer in the global electric motor market. Founded in 1984 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2002 (code SH600580), Wolong has grown to manage 3 manufacturing bases, 39 main factories, and 3 global R&D hubs.
Wolong's growth includes the strategic acquisition of prominent century-old European motor brands. This network integrates diverse manufacturing histories, including ATB, Brook Crompton, Laurence Scott, Schorch, OLI, Nanyang Explosion-Proof Group (CNE), and GE's Commercial & Industrial Motors division. This integration allows us to combine historical Western motor engineering with high-capacity Chinese manufacturing to deliver efficient, certified motor designs.
Acquired in 2011, ATB's UK brand Morley brings 130 years of history in underground coal mining drives. Laurence Scott excels in low starting current systems, nuclear power cooling motors, and naval generator designs.
Brook Crompton specializes in energy-efficient low and medium voltage AC designs. Schorch (founded 1882 in Germany) sets high standards for high-voltage, heavy-duty drives in oil & gas, municipal water networks, and marine systems.
Nanyang Explosion Group (CNE), China's main research base for explosion-proof systems, joined Wolong in 2015. In 2018, GE's industrial division added high-capacity American-standard machinery options to the lineup.
Inside the automated tooling, precision insulation, and dynamic balancing stations of Wolong's international factories.

Our custom electric motor production program leverages the advantages of Chinese industrial infrastructure. Through integrated local supply networks, we optimize the sourcing of high-purity electrical steel, precision bearings, and pure copper windings. This direct access supports efficient manufacturing and cost management while maintaining high quality standards.
China's motor factories utilize automated production equipment, CNC machining, and automated coil winding. Advanced manufacturing techniques are combined with strict quality control. Motor frames are machined to tight tolerances, and rotors undergo dynamic balancing. Every step is monitored using digitized production systems.
By blending efficient local manufacturing processes with global engineering principles (such as those from ATB and Schorch), we supply international markets with highly competitive, certified custom electric motors. This combination of efficiency, engineering quality, and cost optimization helps lower the total cost of ownership (TCO) for global industrial operations.
Our motors are designed for high operational durability, using premium materials and engineering designs for key components.
Our squirrel-cage rotors are built for long-term mechanical reliability. Cast aluminum rotors are produced using centrifugal casting or die-casting techniques. In this process, molten pure aluminum is poured into the slots of the rotor core, creating a single-piece component that integrates the rotor bars and end rings.
For larger-capacity motors, copper bar rotors are used. These feature welded copper connections and end rings, designed to withstand thermal cycling and high starting loads. High-speed models also incorporate protective retaining rings to prevent distortion under centrifugal stress.
Stator coils are constructed from polyester film reinforced with glass cloth and high-mica content tapes. After winding, the stator core undergoes a full Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process. This creates a solid, moisture-resistant insulation system that improves heat dissipation and minimizes mechanical movement during operation.
The insulated stator assembly is designed to provide high electrical strength, resistance to humidity, and thermal stability in challenging ambient conditions.
Motor frames are developed using digital structural and fluid multi-physics simulation platforms. These designs optimize heat dissipation and physical stability. Built from high-strength cast iron or structural steel, our frames provide solid support that minimizes vibration and maintains structural alignment.
This construction absorbs mechanical vibration and withstands physical impacts, ensuring reliable operation for internal bearings and rotor components.
The cooling system includes a fan cover, air guide cylinder, protective window, and silencing plates. Designed to reduce noise, the air inlet is positioned on the side to optimize airflow paths and reduce turbulence noise.
Sound-absorbing materials help dampen high-frequency operational noise. The system is rated to IP22/IP55 to prevent dust ingress and accidental contact with moving fan blades.
Our custom electric motors comply with major international technical standards, facilitating integration into global industrial projects.

Our manufacturing sites utilize international standards to ensure product reliability across different markets:
Engineered for high performance, Wolong's custom motors operate reliably under heavy load conditions globally.
Used to drive large compressors, pumps, and fans in refineries, extraction platforms, and pipelines. Our ATEX/IECEx certified explosion-proof motors are designed to operate safely in volatile chemical environments.
Powering conveyor systems, crushers, and sag mills. Built with heavy cast iron frames, reliable winding designs, and high thermal capacity to handle dust, impacts, and high starting torques.
DNV-GL type approved motors designed for deck machinery, thrusters, and bilge pumps. They feature marine-grade coatings, salt-mist resistant seals, and shaft protections for offshore installations.
The industrial motor market is moving toward higher efficiency and integrated intelligence. Regulations are transitioning from IE3 to IE4, and forward-looking operators are planning for IE5 standards. Utilizing permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) designs helps achieve these efficiency levels, lowering energy consumption and heat emissions.
Additionally, predictive maintenance is becoming standard. Modern custom motors can be integrated with vibration, temperature, and magnetic flux sensors. These smart sensors monitor performance in real-time, helping operators identify issues like bearing wear or winding imbalances early, preventing unexpected downtime.
Shaanxi Nanfang Motor remains committed to this technology shift, offering smart, energy-efficient motor options to help operators optimize energy use and improve uptime.
